Living well in Bowen - top of the Whitsundays

Here is a pic of what my friend Melinda can do at her shop BlenderZ Juice Bar in Bowen.  See BlenderZ Juice Bar on facebook. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002085874750

Her fruit salad bowl is a perfect match with my chocolate fountain for parties.  My son absolutely loves it when I say chocolate fountain.  This basket can easily serve 25 people alongside a fountain.

What have you created for your parties.

I am one full week into 6 months leave from my job due to my declining health.  At 43 I should be fit and healthy, at least that is what I think but my body has other ideas.

By taking a break I have taken a step back and realised that I had been totally immersed in my work and expected that the small portion of "me" left, had to spread across the roles of homemaker, mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend.

It is absolutely liberating to put work on the back-burner and devote all of my time to my loved ones.  It  also feels very alien.  The last time I took leave it was Maternity Leave over 10 years ago and was hardly a holiday by the beach.

My focus is on living healthy, exercising regularly and letting my overworked psyche take a break.

Has this happened to you?  Am I suffering a mid-life crisis?

10000 steps a day

I learnt an interesting fact today.  When counting your steps using a pedometer you can increase your steps by increasing your exercise intensity.

For more info check out the 10000 steps website http://www.10000steps.org.au

Join today to exercise your way to health.  What are your favourite tips for reaching 10000 steps per day?  Remember Living is for Everyone, Anjanette

Today I had coffee with a friend.  A new friend!!  I am branching out into previously untried ground here.
We swapped stories about our families, work, co-workers,  advice and experience and found we have a lot in common.  Especially our need and desire to live positively and surround ourselves with happy loving experiences and people.
Why is that so many people appear to not care and are content using valuable time in such a negative, energy sucking manner especially when they share this energy with others.  Uggh,
Cut others some slack.  When you drag yourself to work wishing you too were sitting on the beach.  Stop and consider just how you appear to others.
Try smiling and random acts of kindness.
Our life, our friends and our family deserve the best of us.  Life is ours to be shared and enjoyed.  Living is for Everyone.  Get ready, set and Go!

Life- Living Is for Everyone

Welcome and thanks for looking me up.  I am going to start off my first blog with an introduction to me.

I am a few years over 40.
Married for 12 years and have one child.

Today is my third day of six months leave.  This is my first extended break for work since taking maternity leave over 10 years ago.

What will I use this time for?

After living through a horrendous 2011 I had big plans for 2012.  2011 featured caring for a loved one battling a life threatening disease, getting to work every day and provide my whole family with as much love and attention as I could summon up.  So everything was on the up and up at the end of last year.   My work prospects were looking great and I had just stepped into a promotion which offered a brilliant opportunity to stretch my wings without changing employers.

But then to my surprise, and it really came out of nowhere I ran out of energy.  All I want to do is sleep, be grouchy and lock myself away.  I made an appointment with my GP and we looked at the various aspects of my life.  Eventually I had to admit that I needed a pressure release (a bit like a pressure cooker without an outlet for the steam)

Now my life is all about me and my family.  I have always had an idea for a catchy business or similar and that is what I have used as my blog title LIFE - Living Is For Everyone.

Let's get ready to make the most out of this one time we have.  Life is to precious.
